Personal Bio:
|
I've been writing since early childhood; but, grandma Moses that I am, only in the past several years have I become really serious about my work. In 1996, I won the overall win for poetry and prose for Composers, Authors, and Artists of America, the Fort Worth, TX chapter. I walked away with 7 of the 11 awards and then the overall win for both categories. I also came in second for photography with the Mazatlan sunset picture in my personal website, not to be mistaken for the Honolulu sunset in this site. What a boost that was to my self-esteem! WOW! CAAA is a professional organization and they had me listed as an artist because of my clowning, sewing, singing, art work, and as an author because I've had my own byline in several newspapers and won other awards with my writings. Look for me in print soon! I got married on June 3, 2006 to my childhood sweetheart. The information is in my website.

While in nursing school, many moons ago, I worked as a photographer and a reporter and fell deeply in love with writing. I'm romancing the words again. Some of my poems are being used in the Card Fountain egreeting card website. Just do a search for my pen name Moonlight Flower.

Never let a day go by without telling your loved ones you love them, be they spouse, child, family member, pet, or special friends, and yes, even coworkers. You never know when it may be too late. Life is too short to live a negative lifestyle or in an unhealthy relationship. Never settle....go for your dreams. Your significant other should support your goals and dreams and encourage you to reach them. Follow your dreams; don't take them to the grave with you. You can't reach what you don't aspire for.

The photo is a Poloroid snapshot taken after a hula performance at Center Stage at Ala Moana Mall December 15, 2001. I was the only haole (white) person in the halau (hula troup). I framed the picture using PSP and a graphic.
