The Latin phrase - quantum mutatus ab illo - means "how changed he is from what he was." That is the theme. Don't include the phrase in the body, though it can be the title if you wish. The Latin uses masculine gender, but gender is not important. Make no more than twenty-eight lines with lines of no more than fifteen words in any line. Poems should be evaluated based the following criteria, which I list in order of importance. 1. Does it strongly impart a particular mood to the reader? 2. How well does every single word serve to advance the mood? 3. Does the poem make good use of sounds - that is to say, is it more effective when read aloud? 4. Does the poem speak to all? (That is to say, does the subject matter, mood or tone exclude any readers?)
