Hello Starliters,
I am excited to announce that as of November 15, 2007 my dad and I have assumed ownership of The Starlite Cafe. We are both Starliters, who have enjoyed the closeness and connectivity of the Starlite family. Starlite Cafe has given us both so much in terms of support and encouragement to keep writing. It is now our turn to give back.
We want to give our most sincere thanks and appreciation to the one person who has done the most in the last year to keep the doors of Starlite open. Thank you Tess for everything you have done. We all know the last year has been hard. If it was not for your dedication and leadership, Starlite would not be here today. Tess was the person who allowed me to restore the site after the July 24th crash. She went to bat for me with Keith and convinced him that I had the skills needed to help Starlite. When Keith had to consider selling the site, as his new day-job responsibilities did not allow him the time he would need to devote to the site to keep it running properly, Tess helped me make the deal. Thank you, Tess.
I have already mentioned how that both my dad and I are both Starliters. I was introduced to Starlite by Maria Vecchio in January 2004. Maria showed me the ways of StarliteCafe and introduced me to this lovely family. I started posting my poetry here. Last year, my dad wrote a poem that touched me so much that I convinced him to share it with Starlite as well. He signed up with the user id of CheeseMaker and started writing on a regular basis. We both want to keep Starlite as a special place where poets can come together and share their art.
We have already extended an invitation to Tess to join our management team to help us in evaluating the different options available to us. We value her experience, expertise and judgment. We also hope that each of the moderators and challenge coordinators will work with us to make Starlite even stronger than before. We look forward to meeting each of you and working together to correct issues as well as add new features that would make the Starlite experience better.
Over the next few weeks, we will be taking a hard look at the financial and technical condition of Starlite to find the best way to continue the dream. Thank you all for your support and patience during this transition.
