Devin JeanelA short bio |
Writing has been a major part of Devin's life from a very early age. His first novelette was a science fiction story about four teenagers in space and was completed at the age of twelve. In high school, he studied journalism and served on both the newspaper and yearbook staffs. At the age of sixteen, he was the chief editor of "The Church Mouse".
In college, Devin explored a different love -- computers. Whether it was Cobol, Artificial Intelligence or dot net web development, Devin exceled with a 4.0 GPA (A in every course). Even as he was lost in the world of bits and bytes, Devin still found the time to publish a family genealogy newspaper.
After receiving a bachelor and a MBA degree, Devin worked for 13 years in Corporate America with a top U.S. retailer. Even as he managed multiple staffs, the love of writing returned. In 2001, Devin wrote a book of love poetry called Come and Be With Me. The book was sold throughout the web world.
For his next two books, Devin turned to action/adventure in the spirit of Ian Fleming. Even as Devin's characters were loving and killing each other, Devin was learning more about the hidden side of writing, the publishing. On his latest book, The Fight for Spider's Lair, Devin photographed the lovely Aya for the cover, used graphic design tools to create a cover template for the printer, formatted the interior and wrote all marketing copy. It was mostly for fun, but became addictive. Devin continued in the publishing field by publishing books by friends. He currently has four books in various stages of publishing.
Devin's latest adventure has been to join his father to manage Starlite Cafe. Together, they are dedicated to continuing the dream of the late Albert Victor, the site's founder helping to join poets together for just the love of it. Devin can be reached at devinjeanel@TheStarliteCafe.com
