Hello everyone...
As you all know, Starlite is supported by advertisement revenue and individual contributors. Without either one, the site would not be able to continue.
Advertising is not always pretty, and can be down right intrusive on a pretty poem. So you will see that we are experimenting with ways of controlling whether advertisement appears on a poem or not.
Our current thoughts is that at the very least, we could give our contributors a special perk or bonus for all their help. It would be a nice way to say thank you for helping us meet the bills. So maybe anyone who has sent us any donation would see all their poems as advertisement free.
We are also looking at whether we could afford to give EVERYONE advertisement free poem pages. It would be so nice to be able to take the advertisement off for everyone. However, we don't want to put the site in danger of not being able to pay its bills. So we will be taking a look to see how many new monthly contributors we would need to safely do that
We have only converted the 105 directory. If your poem is in 105 directory.. in other words the url to your poem at the top of your browser looks like this
http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/...
then you should not be seeing an advertisement on the top of your poem. If you do, please open a ticket to us. http://thestarlitecafe.com/phpdir/createticket.php
