Dear Linda, Hey...My daughter, Ash, had tubes inserted and adnoids removed when she was three years old during the same surgery. All went well and has been since then. Ashton will be able to hear much better after the surgery. Ash's doctor told me she was hearing sounds as if she were under water. Please know the Lord is with you and Ashton and your family. All will go well. Don't worry, Linda. Have a good time in FL while you can. Also, I'm sorry to learn about your ailment. I pray all will go well for you. Your Muse will come back after all is good and gone. (((Linda))) Love, ~Capri~

It seems the revival of this prayer thread--8 responses today when the last one was on April 15--is a divine gift. Ashton had another ear infection last week and his asthma has gotten pretty bad also. He had an appointment at Children's Hospital TODAY and the tubes will be going in on May 24 . . . while I am in Florida! He also may have to have his adenoids out at the same time because he snores so loudly when he sleeps. I am so upset that I will be away when all this happens . . . not due back until the 30th of May . . . but I already have my plane tickets and cannot afford to lose them. Of course if my daughter WANTED me to be here, I would, but Ashton's daddy will be here with them. I just want to thank you all so much for the prayers for the little guy. As for me, I had the second surgery yesterday to remove the rest of the polyps inside my stomach. Problem was, there were so many they STILL didn't get them all and I have to go through another surgery in 6 to 12 months. The surgery itself isn't that bad--done as an outpatient--but they did another biopsy and now I have to wait 2-3 weeks for the results. I trust they will be benign again, but a few extra prayers couldn't hurt. Thank you my Starlite family. Sorry I have been so scarce lately, but my muse has gone astry and I cannot seem to find her. And with the mood I have been in for the past few months, I don't feel like reading either. I seem to be living in some limbo land between complete apathy and just a lack of enthusiasm. Hopefully I will be back soon. Peace and Love, ^^LINDA^^

Awww Linda bless his wee little heart. Oh those dreaded Electricencelplagrams (EEG) I have had my share of them...... While awake, drowsy, and asleep so I know just how Ahston felt. And as a big kid I myself was also scared. Poor little fella has really had a go of it. My prayers continue for him and I pray that the tests good back with only good news. Just an update . . . Ashton had an EEG today at Children's Hospital in Buffalo, NY. The reason they did this test is because his seizure was atypical--he only seized on one side of his body. This is a concern for us because he has had head problems before. One side of his head grew much faster than the other, leaving a lopsided appearance. They did tests then to ascertain whether the sutures on one side of the skull may not have closed properly. The tests came back ok, so they just left it alone. He had to have 24 electrodes attached to his head today and he cried and fought through the entire process--mainly out of fear. They then had to take readings while he was awake, drowsy, and sleeping. Because he was deprived of sleep the day before the test, he did fall asleep while I sang to him. He then slept through the test, through the removal of all the wires and the washing of his hair, through several changes of hands and being put into his carseat, through the drive home and the removal from his carseat, and slept another hour or so at home. The poor little guy was exhausted, as were we all! Thank you for all the prayers. We should find out by Tuesday or so if the scan showed any problems. Meanwhile he has an appointment at Children's next Friday to meet with the pediatric ENT specialist. Hopefully they will recommend tubes in his ears to alleviate the continuing ear infections. Love you all! Peace and Love, ^^LINDA^^

Hi Linda, I am surely keeping Ashton in my prayers, those ear infections can be so awful, poor little guy. My son Gary had a horrendous amount of ear infections as a child, tubes in his ears helped but it wasn't until they discovered he had several allergies that infected the sinuses and caused fluid build up in the eustation tubes that they were finally able to almost allieviate them all together. He is 32 and still gets them off an on but not as severe. Once the allergies were treated the ear infections were lessened. I'll keep Ashton in my prayers. Give him a big hug from Annie. Love and blessing to all of you. Annie |

I just wanted to ask for prayers for my 18-month-old grandson Ashton. He has had nine ear infections in less than a year and was on the strongest antibiotic they could give him. Tonight his fever shot up to 105 degrees and he went into convulsions. We spent several hours in the emercency room with him--and he screamed almost the whole time because of all the tubes and bags on him. They finally got his fever down and he is on alternating Motrin and Tylenol every two hours til morning, when he needs to see his pediatrician and get an appointment with a pediatric ENT. He is so little and I felt so hepless. He finally fell asleep in my arms and I just held him until all of the test results came back and they said he could leave. Please say a prayer for him. Thanks. Peace and Love, ^^LINDA^^
