Albert..you are a man amomg men and it would take double the size of ""War And Peace""to describe just what kind of giving man you are..So many times we disrespected your site not stopping to think we were taking advantage of a home offered free with no strings attatched..The home you have built for us took years of hard work based on your wanting to create that special cafe where poets could gather together and share poetry for the love of it,develope lasting friendships and support those in reaching out through strong prayer chains.So many times I saw your name in prayer chains but now the prayer chains are centered aound you..I pray many poets read this;not for accolades,but to show all who post here how priviledged they are to enter the doors of a small cafe and not want to leave.You are so much more than a man""God does walk the hallowed halls of Starlite and there are Angels of many forms here..You are the brightest Angel of all and each of the thousands of Angels bow as they pass you by..Prayers and blessings Albert..In God we trust..Philip |

I'm wishing and sending you more than luck Albert...I am praying to God for a miracle for you! My father-in-law was sent home to die with a very agressive melanoma. The doctors wanted to remove his leg at the hip join, as high as they possibly could. But Gus had faith in his God and was prayed for for healing. He BELIEVED that God would heal him. The doctors sent him home to die when he refused the surgery and he lived another 60 years in good health! This my dear friend is a TRUE story of the power of God. THIS kind of miracle is my "prayer" for you!

I had another cat scan today. It is such a humbling experience to do these. You know you have cancer so it's just a matter of where it is and how much they find. It went smooth and I have my first (hopefully) appointment with my surgeon Wednesday and he's going to lay out my prognisis and my game plan. I'm doing ok though. I am much more accepting of all this than I was and I know that what will be will be. I just have to keep my spirits up as high as I possibly can and keep myself as strong as I possibly can. With all your help, I know I can do it. I'll let you all know what happens on Wednesday! Wish me luck! |

Albert, I'm so sorry I haven't posted sooner. I was told about this several days ago. I just wasn't sure what to say. But I have been, and will continue praying for you. Cancer is a scary thing, but NOTHING and NOBODY is stronger then our Lord. He will bring you through this.

Oh I know the waiting is so hard and the passing of each day harder when you are not sure exactly what you are facing Albert.
Please know that I think of you daily and say a prayer. If it is hard for you to remain positive right now, we that care about will do that for you. We have seen the power of the united family of Starlite and what it can do. We are all behind you believe me.

Thank you so much for giving me the link to this place Tess. I'll be checking daily to hear of Albert's progress. Please send him my sincerest good wishes and confirm my offer still stands and always will. He has been a constant inspiration to me over the past - how many years has it been now, eight at least...? I am sure his strength of character and his amazing ability to persist in the face of everything will serve him well. If there is anything I can do at any time please do tell me.

I just got off the phone with Albert. He didn't learn much more today than he already knew. He has to have another cat scan on 12th and will go back to see the surgeon on the 13th.
So, more waiting! Keep sending your positive thoughts and prayers his way!
