I think that anyone who knew Anita will always have a memory of her popping into their head,,be it while shaping and writing/rewriting/rewriting a piece..reading a poem or commenting on another's works..her spirit shall always walk the hallowed hallowed halls of Starlite..Prayers and blessings..In God we trust..Philip |

Anita's name popped up in my birthday reminder the other day, and I was getting a card ready, when I remembered. Then, yesterday, this thread came active again. What a lovely friend Anita was, and I know she's still keeping tabs on all of us here at the Cafe. nita g Keep a notebook handy and a pen that's full of ink.

Thank you both for such kind words. Friendships are so hard for me and Anita was the closest friend I have ever had. But, she loved and worried about so many of the Starliters and I think a part of her will live in many of us for as long as we live. Now I am in tears, so I will let this thread be for now. |

I remember the times Anita wrote me asking me to pray for something that was on her mind. I know you were good friends too Mary but I also remember how close Desert Knave and she were as you have written. God bless you both for being there for her as she was for you. love, sharon |

Anita always said I was one of the best friends she ever had BUT Desert_Knave was the best. She told me how you watched tv together. She said with you she could forget the problems in life and laugh. She said she laughed many times because she was expected to but with you she laughed because she felt like it. I was so proud she had you in her life. I enjoyed seeing another starliter express their feeling for Anita. It's good to know she has not been forgotten. Take care dearest Desert_Knave -- Mary |

To this day I wait for the phone to ring. To this day I think of her so often. But, I also recall the pain and misery in her voice the last time we talked, and find some solace in knowing that the painful part is over. The healing is what I try to focus on. Yes, she did talk on the phone a lot, I can recall many a conversation lasting for hours. I remember especially fondly the conversations when American Idol auditions were going on. We had such fun trying to predict who would go further in the competition. Anyhow... enough said I guess. I miss you Anita. |

It is now Sept. 2009 and I still miss my Dear friend. She used to call me and talk for hours. She said she had to buy those cheap calling cards and she would get one and put my name on it. She was one special Lady. Reading back over these comments makes me wonder how in the world she had time to call so many people. I remember one night she called me and suddenly she said Oh No! Mary it's 1am. I've kept you on the phone for over 5 hours. Then almost before I could say Byee she hung up. God how I loved that woman. --- Mary |

I too think of your mom each day. I still have her in my address book, and those of several other family members from starlite who have passed. I don't think I will ever take them out. I even have a memorial to her on my personal web page. Hugs to you sweetie girl The truth is everyone is going to hurt you. You just have to decide who is worth the pain

Oh Janna, I started to email your Mom the other day. Something popped up in a message from another friend and I immediately thought she would love reading it. It wasn't until I had the email addressed that it hit me and I had to dry my eyes before deleting the message. Hang in there, and know that there are still lots of friends at the Cafe. nita g
May you always have a notebook and a pen that's full of ink.

Janna oh honey I have something to send you in memory of your mom, and dear Lord how sorry I am to have let it slip my mind these past months. My intentions were good but I did not follow through. YES I still have your address and it will be in the mail this weekend. I PROMISE. I miss your mom so much and the laughter joy and ethical and moral master of words that she was. I carry her within my heart and will always hold her dear. I too miss her phone calls. ~Jacie~ ~Jacie Stralko Duca~ JMDUCA@webtv.net

I cannot begin to count the number of times I have heard something funny and wanted to call to share it with your mother. I sit many evenings and forget, forget and expect the phone to ring. I also think of you and hope that you heal and find your way. She was a special lady and a gift to me, as I know she was to you. |

Awww i don't believe it i had to read this over so many times.. is it janna? I'm so sorry your mum has passed on. I do not know you maybe not even at all but your mum would often write to me and help this young 21 year old guy with alot of problems in his life, she always gave up her time to ask me how im going and offer any advice or help she was able to give me and would often leave lovely inspiring comments on my poetry. I will surely miss her alot. God bless you Janna and your family may God watch over and protect you, comforting you in this time of mourning. Let us not forget anita's selfless caring nature and the great contribution she has given to starlite over the years. God help us learn to rejoice in times of suffering and trust in thee all our fears doubts anything we have including our hearts and minds. May perpetual light shine upon you dear Anita may God have mercy on you and us all and may you rest in eternal peace in the kingdom of heaven for ever and ever, Amen. Michael william James

I didn't know her but, the way you all talk about her she must be an Angel! She is with God now and looking down on us! Yes, and now she really is an Angel! She's in God's care now! I wish I knew her! Love, Marsha |

Scott, my dear Hoosier brother, I know where you are coming from...but I have not yet, or know if I even will, take her address out of my book. Just last year, I took David's out. He died in 2002 posted here as Shadowfire When we hurt each other we should write it down in the sand, so the winds of forgiveness can make it go away for good. When we help each other we should chisel it in stone, lest we never forget the love of a friend.-Christian H. Godefroy

Tonight I was going through my contact list to send mail and I came upon Anita's regular and Laughter Lines email addies..Anita were very close friends and shared secrets that I am sure she shared with other Starliters..I had never figured out how to say goodbye or pay homage to a lady so close to my heart..I sat for the longest time looking at her email addresses wishing we could share one more email but I knew we never would again so I sat there knowing what I had to do and I realized the one thing Anita would want her fellow Starlite poets to do would be to move on and pick up their pens..Again I sat there in silence not movin..Then slowly I selected her addresses, moved up to the delete button and hit delete..Anita had a special way of reaching out to others and taking their souls under her wings..Many Starlite poets are better off from knowing her..Till we meet on the other side my cherished friend I shall say "prayers and blessings to you..In God we trust" one last time..Philip Lee Scott |

I haven't been at the cafe very much lately; haven't really been online much lately and so it is with a deeply saddened heart that I come back online to find out about Anita's passing.... My heart goes out to her family; may God comfort you in your time of great loss... Anita was a sweetheart "When you feel lost, pause and look closely around you; somewhere/somehow an angel will be waiting to help you home."
