Doreen - I'd like to cordially invite you to an area here in the discussion forum called Form Over Substance. This area is all about learning the various forms of poetry. The original Form Over Substance Challenge is not competitive, and let's you learn various forms of poetry. Currently, we're reviewing The ABC's of Poetry, starting with the letter "A" this week. If you prefer to enter a competitive challenge and possibly host one yourself, there's the AnyFORM Goes Challenge - you use a phrase given with any form you'd like, including free verse. There are also other fun exercises, like Once Upon a Haiku, The Pantoum Kingdom, and Limerick Gimerick. Please do stop in and find the various forms of poetry - and of course, if you have any questions you can email me any time at fos.guy@gmail.com - thanks, and I hope this helps! Michael If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague. *** Use links to visit Poet Idiot or to purchase my first collection of poetry, Knowing He Must Go

Good morning everyone I have an embarrasing need. I don't know many forms, the few I recognize from school I barely remember. Could use a tutor. I've been reading some different styles and think it's great. I just star at paper and let my mind carry me no rhyme or reason. doreen |
