I just heard Heather, I am so sorry but having seen a loved one battle with the dreaded big C , sometimes it is best to let go. You should remember
Short miles away is where he's gone
God called and so he moved along
He went in faith without much fear
Altho he hated leaving here
Up there he sits at Gods right hand
To listen to the angels band
He urges you to jon him there
When you leave for the promised land
He waits by heaven's fountain bright
In dreams he'll come to you at night

I am sad for the family, dear, but know Grandpa is
feeling much better up in Heaven. He had indeed
suffered long enough. It was time for his Father
to take him home. I hope all do well..my prayers
are with all of you and specially for your Mama..

First I wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and let you all know that my Grandpa's battle with cancer ended this morning. My Grandma said he passed away very peacefully after almost 3 weeks in the Hospice unit of the hospital. He held on a long time but it was time for him to go home.
I am worried about my Mom and how she will handle all of this, but I know she's strong and I'll be there every step of the way. We all know he is in a better place without cancer, without pain.
Rest in Peace Grandpa we love you!!

I will say a prayer for your grandpa and for your family...I know of this kind of hurt...I felt it with my grandmother, who also had lung cancer... And it seemed that all of my mom's brothers and sisters just wanted to hurt her.....so I know about this kind of pain too.... I will say a prayer for your mom's pain filled heart as well... And I'm really sorry to hear that you are going through this.....much love~ Tammie |

Thank you so much for your support and prayers. This is not your typical grandparent situation. Things have always been tense in what information my grandparents actually share with my Mom and right now she is so hurt. It seems they are deciding what she needs and doesn't need to know. My Mom is one of the strongest women that I know and it is truly distressing the way she is being treated in all of this. I know it becomes a not wanting her to worry type thing, but Mom has 2 younger brothers who are very much involved in everything that is going on because they were told and know what's been going on it turns out for over two weeks ago.
Mom got ahold of my Grandma today and Grandpa is still hanging in there. Mom waited all night last night to hear from someone there and no call was made. Right now we definitely all need positive thoughts and prayers. I know how this post may sound I'm just upset right now not just at this situation, but at years of the same.
My Mom is my everything and anyone messes with her they mess with me :-) I will bring you all updates as I have them.

Oh Honey, I am so sorry to hear this news. Please
know that my thoughts and prayers are with your
Grandpa and your family as well. I know that you
will miss him terribly but try to remember love
that he will be sitting up in heaven..no more hurt;
no more pain. One of the hardest parts of love
(I have found) is being able to 'let go' and it
is difficult to do. Perhaps God has a miracle in
store for him..one never knows. Prayers are
ascending and sending you a big hug as well.

Hello Starliters,
We just received word that my Grandpa isn't doing so well. He has been fighting lung cancer for well over a year now and though they got it under control it spread to other places and now his body is tired of fighting. It is almost time for him to be healed and pass on from this life to the next. Please hold him and my family in your thoughts and prayers. He's been in the care unit since Tuesday so we are unsure if Mom will go up there or if there will be time. She was able to talk to him on the phone though and that's a good thing.
