Ok coming from a female here.. though im old enough now that i have my own teenage daughter to deal with ( puberty sucks for us to guys lol) I can say I was then and still am very self concious about the way I look. Most girls at that age are, so if you just walk up to her and tell her she's beautiful, she probably won't believe you. If you're really interested in her, make some careful observations about what she likes/dislikes and ask her to participate in something you both like. Personally, I'd rather have compliments made on my intelligence than on what I look like. We live in a world now where females are struggling to be known as intelligent as males...so compliments of this nature would probably go over well...What the heck David, your on a poetry site, write her something short and sweet, bet that'd go over good too....Thanks for letting me ramble..MAC |

As for getting this girl, acknowledge firstly that you do not wish to possess her and that you can never own her. If you have this imature way of thinking things will never work in a relationship for very long. Yeah Jim said the basic rules behave...etc.. now to the objective part of getting over the fear... I talked to my ex and it was "awkwardo" pluss I still love her... blah love hurts damn it... Well man I mustered up the courage and started talking to her about recent events happening (going back to school etc...) then the conversation drifts and you can sort of manipulate it which is nice :-D and like Jim said thats a very very very very good way to getting attention and not looking like much of a dumb... you get the drift... lol

The very fact that you are responding to girls like this demonstrates that you are not a puss.
You may appear wussy if you don't take control of your part of the encounter. That's just social technique.
The first thing is to make a decision. Pretend that you are a spy that must report on her personality. Then observe her from that point of view. Just because she is curvy and exudes pheromones dosen't indicate that she is someone with whome you can be close. This only takes a moment or two once you have your intellect in control with your harmonial reactions regulated to the background. Just decide if her attitudes and mannerisms are similiar to the sort of persons you enjoy hanging out with. If you decide yeah, she seems to be cool, then you devise some way to get her attention with you in charge of your own responses. Most teen girls are pretty self conscious. Walk up to her, stop just outside her intimate zone where she has to respond to you but inside her awarness zone where she knows you are there. Start looking her over while taking notes in a small note book. Write things like "lovely personility" "very intelligent" "quite mature" "self assured". Write positive things that you really feel about her. When she demands to know what you are doing just be honest. Tell her that you were attracted to her beauty but needed to decide about her character before approaching her for friendship. Invite her to have a coke or coffee or whatever with you so you can get to know her better. She will be burning with curosity to know what you wrote in the note book and will most likely have a coke with you just to get a chance ro read it.
You get the idea?
Stay in control of your own responses. Behave decently and be honest about your feelings without ever allowing yourself to get blubbery. Girls hate blubbery from any source except infants.
