I know that the old and new challenges are a huge part of the experience, and I'm honored to be selected to lead this effort. The welcome and support that I have received has been wonderful and I want to express my thanks to all. I believe we all share the same wish! A place to call home online! A place where we can share our love of poetry. I do recognize that a slight gulf has divided the two types of Challenges. As Devin has said, it is time to stop building walls and start healing wounds. We ALL love Starlite. We all enjoy expressing our emotions in poetry. My hope and wish is that we join together and accept both the new and old challenges as we build for a brighter future. I would like to thank each one of the Challenge Moderators for their support. I do hope you will be made to feel at home here." There are many different challenges and two ways to win within our walls. Our veteran challenges are held with these guidelines in mind. 1. Either a phrase, theme or poetic form is given by the host. 2. The host votes for the winner of the next challenge. 3. The winner of the Challenge picks a phrase, theme or poetic form - dependent upon the challenge they joined to begin with - and hosts the new challenge. Our newer challenges are voted upon by members of the Cafe and the winning write - well, wins. LOL I am not clear on whether or not they will now host a challenge, or if the fun is in the winning. I'm sure someone can help you with this matter better than I, since my Muse has been sleeping for the most part of a year! LOL I do know some of these new challenges are held in order to pick authors for the book the Cafe will be publishing at the end of the year. These challenges will be marked by a heart beside the challenge name, indicating the winner gets a spot in the Cafe Book - cool, hey??
