Good Evening Starliters, I appreciate you Devin and Renee. Thank you. I say this because we don't it enough. Just thankful for things we got. For all the participants that has entered in the FREE VERSE CORNER, I thank you. You are appreciated. This morning, this fine Saturday morning I had to trek to one of my favorite cafes to pick up peanut milk. Yes, folks. Peanut milk. And I love it. Gives me energy for some of my long work out sessions. Plus, I love peanuts. The people that make it are two elderly people that do it for the love of peanuts. They say its a gift from God. And I believe them. I go there I guess, to get a beautiful product yet made from their love. I need all the positive energy I can get. Well, heres a link to their article if any of you are interested and website link: Article: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/gate/archive/2004/06/23/elixpean ut.DTL Their Website: http://peanutmilk.net/en/ This leaves me to you dear readers here in Starlite World. There are poems in the challenge that have double digit comments and I am so excited. Yet there are those poems that haven't seen the light. Let me share some light for them: Private Dancer - Honor and Pride "The picture he left me to hold every night" http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91045464.html Catseye - No Strings Attached "till slowly her fingers uncurled and set them free, watching sadly as they floated from her view." http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91045514.html twc48us - Missing You "Our love will always be there to soar, In my heart, MISSING YOU, will be no more..." http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91013538.html Creativity5363 - Waiting on You "Often we act like silly Ole clowns There is always the taking and the grinding You have stolen my heart and my soul" http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91045602.html Jones - Big Daddy and Charlton Heston Are Talkin "But, Jim, What you must understand, one cannot live on earth forever. It is foolish to believe he can. He grows tired and dies." http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91045824.html Viking Butterfly - My Heart Aches "Giving you that kiss before you left Telling you 'I love you dear" http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91045844.html dexaler7 - Realization About Life "I have known one very important truth about life. I live for the world, I am nothing. If I live for God. I have everything." http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91029664.html Please, read these lovely Poets, who share their heart and soul. No payments on arrival. Just heart and soul. They speak of heartache from war and peace and the solitude in that loneliness. In closing, your gift is from God, and what you do with that gift, is gift to God. Whether its peanut milk to poetry. Regards, ~Ev (Message edited by everett_devalle on May 03, 2008) |

Good Evening Everyone, The weekend is upon us and the FREE VERSE CHALLENGE has enough slot to fill your words from your heart. Come and escape for a moment from your everyday life and act out the very scene provided for you. Just a moment. A moment to escape for second, a minute or day from the ails of life and speak from your voice within. I know this is a challenge, yet a challenge to meet outstanding Poets/Poetess. I know the naysayers will say, its all about winning. Let me tell you, you are all winners in my book. Its not so much the winning part, I feel we lost touch of our human spirit. The try and try again that makes us win in our hearts. I read an interesting story yesterday about a women's softball team losing on purpose because an opposing team player was injured and couldn't cross home plate. You know what they did. They carried that opposing team player across home plate for them to win. Winning isn't everything. We do it for the love. Please, join me in the FREE VERSE CHALLENGE and enter your heart. And if not support the awesome poetry that is being offered by the current Poets expressing their heart and soul. I will be waiting for your words. Have a beautiful weekend, ~Ev |

Hello Everyone, We walk in from all walks of life. From the country side to city wide. And there is one passion we share. Poetry. That bond, is bringing Poets from all over the world. Would you help inspire those Poets and join me in the FREE VERSE CORNER. If you don't want to write and enter, that's fine. The least you can do is read and comment on the participants words of their heart. Thank you greatly for your support. **Reminder** to all the participants in the challenge, please read , comment and support your fellow Poets. This is a friendly competition and in the end this journey, I hope friendships can be made. Regards, ~Ev |

Hello Everyone, First and foremost, I am going to thank God for making all things possible. Second, Thank you Devin and Renee for making this challenge their own. You are truly remarkable people. Now, calling all Poets!! Like one wise man said, "Its getting hot in here!" Oh, he's a rapper. Nevertheless, please join me in a new challenge....drum roll please! "FREE VERSE CORNER". They say my writer's block can be cured. Will you inspire me? Will you please support the latest poems in my challenge. They are lonely ..... They are: "Free Again" by BlindPoet http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91045272.html "Failed Promise" by Zuzanna http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91043176.html "Sad, Or Romance Song" by PoetAlThomas http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91045276.html "Avenue Of Tears" by C Steven Blue http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/105/poem_91045281.html 21 slots left. Yes, 21 more future certified hits needed. Make no mistake about it. There can only be one chosen to be the best of the best from all Starliters. Although, to me, it is Poets getting together to share their words, let their words stand on their own, not in competition, but to share our likeness and passion for poetry. That is YOU. In closing, I would like dedicate this to Albert and Tess, for believing in me. And also Devin for being a brother and Renee for being a sweetheart. So Poets, start your engine and get those pens rolling! Keep penning, ~Ev
