Dear Starliters,

And the ladies have spoken, yes indeedy, some great new additions to the challenge. I must say these are some great poetry being displayed.

Yes, Linda, the scenarios are experimental but each scene is up to the interpretation of the writer. This is where you act out your vision. As you did wonderfully in my last challenge. Although, I have taken your strong suggestion to heart for future challenges.

I offered an idea. A dream. And my dream in America, is a beacon to that freedom for the whole world. That idea. That dream. Doesn't work without you. I have no special sponsors. No, special treatment. In fact, I'm in no group within a group that I am associated with. Just a poet and pen. A poet who longs to read from beautiful artists in a form I enjoy immensely.

Now, my idea. My dream. Is no longer mine. It is YOURS. YOU make it happen. The groundwork has been laid out by you. By sharing your love for poetry. And that love is from the heart and soul by us for us. The poet.

The weekend is upon us, I will be waiting to read your words.

Thank you and good night,

~Ev

One demands two things of a poem. Firstly, it must be a well-made verbal object that does honor to the language
in whichit is written. Secondly, it must say something significant about a reality common to us all, but
perceived from a unique perspective. What the poet says has never been said before, but,
once he has said it, his readers recognize its validity for themselves

The scenarios are so specific and, therefore, so limiting, especially for the ladies. Makes it harder to come up with something than if it were just a general topic such as, in this case, "fantasy lover," or something like that. But, I shall try this weekend to write something! :-)
Peace and Love,
^^LINDA^^

Dear Starliters,

I must say tonight. Wow. Have you read the entries in the FREE VERSE CORNER? Awesome. Awesome work! Please, support the participants write if you have not done so. They are pulling no punches and they have poured their heart and soul for each and everyone of you to read. And with different takes from acting out the scenario I have provided.

Yes, folks. The game is on. And the lucky winner will get a Starlite Teddy bear(for the ladies) or mug (for the ladies or gentlemen) from me.

I remember many years ago, I was chosen from my company to attend one of these business seminars with well known speakers of motivation. And one session I remember that stuck with me.

$20.00

That well known speaker started off his seminar by holding a $20.00 bill. In a room of 200 he asked, "Who would like this $20.00 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, I am going to give this one to you, but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple the bill up. He then asked, who still wants it? Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied what if I do this? He dropped it to the ground and began to grind it into the floor. He picked it up, now dirty and crumpled. "Now who wants it?" Still hand went up into the air.

He said, My friends, you have all learned a valuable lesson. No matter what I did to this money, you still wanted it - it did not decrease in its value. Many times in our lives we are dropped, stepped on, crumpled and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. Regardless of what has happened or what will happen in the future. Never lose your value. You are priceless to those who love you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do, or whom we know, but who we are.

You are priceless to me!

Thank you and goodnight,

~Ev

Dear Starliters,

Thank you from the bottom of heart for making our pilot for FREE VERSE CORNER a success. You made this happen.

WE HEARD YOU.

And FREE VERSE CORNER has launched again. Thank you Devin and Renee for making it fly. I must say I love to rhyme, however, there is something about free verse that I love. The freedom of your words unbound yet in rhythm of your voice. The freedom is enthralling. It just makes the English language so free.

This new challenge is special to me, so I am going to buy the winner, get this, a Starlite Teddy Bear or Mug for the ladies and for the male participants a mug. I can work the details after the winner has been voted on. I want to support Starlite, and in the future I hope you do too. I am going to offer it from my heart and pocket.Wouldn't it be nice to own a momento of Starlite. I think so. So for this future lucky winner. Good luck.

Regards,

~Ev
