Well here goes mine..... even though in my comment to Lewis I said it was rather morbid but seeing how you put it Annie I guess it is something to think about.
Jacie tenderhearted in life and yet tuff enough to withstand whatever came her way. An acorn to the Mighty Oak of her mother whom she shall now go home to be with as she awaits her loved ones to cross over the rainbow someday to be with her. "Cry not" and carry on she tells all for I am happy and my days upon the earth are over as I now walk in the glorius kingdom of golden paths. Gods face she finally sees.

Epitaph
One Heartbeat, One Breath Away From Forever...

Should I be remembered
Let it be for helping children with charactercounts in the miltray place
To be remeberd for helping children find safe haven from the abuse, to be there voice and there face
To be remeberd as mother , wife , family who cared
To be renmeber forever as one whose soul shared....an author who shared with all
Even in the mist of sadness and light, She saw Gods site......

This was written in 2003 not realizing that in a few short months I would lose my husband of 29 years in the breath of a heartbeat.. my sister-in-law read this at his service.. for this is how we remember him and how I hope to be remembered as well...

Epitaphs

Mourn not for me when days are past
And I am laid in death's repose
Instead I wish for laughter cast
'Pon the shadows of eyes now closed
'Tis not the tears or hymns composed
That should linger within your mind
But epitaphs of joyful prose
And memories I leave behind

“MY EPITAPH”

Here I now lay, in peace at long last
I am no more haunted by the ravaged past
I have no pain, and sorrow hath fled,
All of my trials have now been shed…
I am truly happy to be where I am-
As silent as the pearl in a clam.
Earthly goods could not change my way,
"I am nestled in the cool earth today."
It is a joy to know I'm relieved -
I knew this would come, so please do not grieve...
I have anxiously awaited my own special time
Eternal rest is now finally mine….

One breath, one heart beat from forever, one foot in front of the other was the last thing she had done. For her life was full of passion and she left with love from the radiance of the setting sun.}

One Heartbeat, One Breath Away From Forever...

Should I be remembered,

Let it be for my sense of humor and laughter.
Let it be for my heart filled with compassion.
Let it be for my determination to survive,
Let it be for my love with deep passion..

When at last I take,
That final breath...
Let me be remembered...
For my life, and not my death.

Hi Everyone, Was just reading Chamillion's (Lewis's) latest poem and it got me to thinking, we are all only one heartbeat, one breath away from forever...If something happened (and I pray it doesn't and that we will all be here for a long time to come)what if, right now, you were to step over that line into eternity, how would you hope to be remembered? Here is mine on short thought, might write a different one later...
ANNIE
One breath, one heartbeat
from forever
She was one not ever
to say never
She might not always
have done things right
but she did her best
to shine the light.
Lover of nature and mankind
but her greatest love,
the Lord God, Divine.

Okay, your turn. Keep it light. This is for fun, not to be morbid or dark. I've walked through many a graveyard and found many a fascinating poems and prayers on the tomb stones. Always, Annie
