Derest Linda, I too thought I answered this but you do know I am getting old and a bit senile. Remember, I am older than you.It must have been horrible for that child but you know they are able to adept to things quickly. Once she calms down and the adults around her calm down I bet she will be fine. Still I know it was and is hard on you knowing how frightened she is and yet knowing she must return to her own house. You know returning quickly was the best thing for her. I will continue to pray for your family.
I love you little sis --Mary

Linda I swear I answered this post when I first read it and do believe that I saw a response from Jo Sharon as well. If I didn't you MUST believe me when I tell you that prayers went out immediatley. I NEVER turn down any prayer request. Oh gee I hope that you know that I do care with all my heart. And I DID pray. I swear this to you Sis. Love ~Jacie~

Thank you, Ken, for being the ONLY person to respond to this thread. I guess "out of sight" means "out of mind" also, sigh.

My granddaughter slept home for the first time last night, so here's hoping she is getting over her fear of the house--until the next storm, anyway. I hate to say this, but I am afraid that I would NOT want to sleep in that house again any time soon, and I am an adult, so think about how much harder it must be for her. My daughter is still sleeping with one eye open and a fire extinguisher next to her bed.)

I got my new DSL modem today, and I am still off work until I see the surgeon on the 12th, so maybe I can get a bit caught up with reading again. Unfortunately, I again had to delete a lot of mail. I hope I am forgiven.
Peace and Love,
^^LINDA^^

lIGHTNING STRIKES THE EMPPIRE STATE building several times a day---but the statement is really true for at every strike lightning destroys some material at the point of the strike----it is not there for the next strike----so that strike did not hit it-----but we are quibbling it is so near to the other place who cares-------THE OTHER PLACE !!!!!!

tell HER NOT TO WORRY-----LIGHTNING HAS ALREADY MISSED YOU WHEN YOU HEAR THE THUNDER-----IT IS SAYING MISSED AGAIN----I MISS SO MUCH IT IS A WONDER I HIT ANYTHING======WE USED TO SEE WHO COULD JUMP THE HIGHEST AS SOON AS WE HEARD THE THUNDER---THUNDER BECAME A JOYFUL TIME NOT A WORRY TIME---THE KIDS WOULD SAY--I HOPE IT RAINS SOON
Currently I am working on a 1500 acre tract in Tenn and need CALTALPA seeds to replant and help create the bio-diversity that existed before this area was cut for timber and agriculture also I need TURKS HEAD oak acorns ----any help will be appeciated by mother nature------currently the deer and wild turkey are in large numbers and the project is 80 % complete===a large lake is full of bass and pan fish-----but the beaver are in excess supply

You have heard the expression "lightning never strikes twice in the same place"? Well, don't you believe it! Five years ago, lightning struck my father's house (the one behind where I now live) a few months before he died. In the early morning hours of Thursday, September 29, lightning again struck his house--where my stepmother, oldest daughter and granddaughter now live--in two places, and set it afire. Thanks to the quick response to my daughter's screams, a neighbor called 911, then reached through the flames to turn on the garden hose and put the fire out enough until the fire trucks came and finished the job.

The resultant power surge from the strike damaged TVs, air conditioners, computers, dishwashers, and power lines in 4 surrounding homes and knocked out phone service to four of us. My phone service was just restored this morning at about 11:00 am, at which time I discovered that my DSL modem was fried due to the power surge through the phone lines. So, I will have no internet service until I receive a new modem through the mail and get it set up--which will be next Tuesday at the latest. I am at the library now.

Two and a half days without phone service was a royal pain, and no internet until next week. BUT, compared to the losses suffered in the hurricanes along the Gulf Coast, this is nothing!! My family was extremely fortunate that everyone was able to get out safely and that no one was hurt, including the neighbor who did not even get his hand singed--though he reached right through the flames. God is good!!

So, my friends, just wanted you all to know why I am MIA here at Starlite, and I sure hope to be back soon.

I would welcome prayers for my granddaughter, who was so traumatized by the lightning strike and fire that she will no longer sleep in that house. She sleeps with me, and her mom comes up each day to get her ready for school. She is only six and I am hoping that she can put this behind her soon.

Thank you all!
Peace and Love,
^^LINDA^^
