Oh, Ron and Sherry, Congratulations on this wonderful news. I'm just so pleased for you. Now Sherry, you listen to those doctors and do EVERYTHING they say to do. If they say stay in bed, then DO IT, my friend. Something like this is just too important to try being a cowboy. Keep up updated on this blessed event, my friends......(((Hugs to both of you))).....Jeri

Hi my name is Sherry (The Realist) and I have been posting at the Starlite since 1999 and have 500 plus poems to my credit. Not so much lately because my life took off in a new direction BUT the Starlite and people here got me thru some really hard times at the end of my last marriage. It just seemed the place to share this kind of news.

reron (who also posts here)and I are pregnant! We met in real life two years ago and got married on Thanksgiving Day last year.

The pregnancy was unplanned but we are ecstatic

I am 8 weeks pregnant this week and looking forward to my first prenatal appointment on Friday. Ok so I'm not the first pregnant lady ever BUT I'm 45 AND he's 53 and never fathered a child, so we feel truly blessed.

I first thought we were experiencing the onset of menopause. But then ... 2 pink lines on a 1 st Response pregnancy Test, twice confirmed several days a part! My body tells me more with each and every day that passes.

This changes everything. So much for life on The Desiderata our newly acquired sailboat!

I've been told already that our pregnancy is high risk due to my age and use of prescribed anxiety drugs which I am weaning off of as we speak. But we are very hopeful! Feel this is God's will, plan to enjoy and love this baby with everything we have.

And just so giddy we wanted to share the news.

Dad and I on Wedding Day, November 24, 2005

We will keep you all informed as we progress into this new and miraculous adventure in life aka Baby Deese.

Take care in the meanwhile. We will be posting soon, I'm certain. reron already wrote a poem for our baby (just hasn't posted it yet).

Truly,

Ron and Sherry
