Hi, I just want to introduce myself. I am C. Steven Blue. I am so glad I found this website. What a great resource for poets to network. You guys and gals are awesome. I look forward to much fun here when I get time to participate. I am retired early, from 27 years of stage production and I have been writing poetry since I was twelve years old. The vast majority of my poetry has been written straight out of dreams or from emotional inspirations. Often I'll wake up in the middle of the night and can not write it down fast enough. My writing just comes to me. I believe it is a gift, for what it's worth. It is not work, rather a spontaneous burst of joy. I have no formal training in poetry writing and wouldn't know a pentameter from a parking meter. I consider myself a lyrical poet, not a literal one. I am a poet from the streets of the '60s, not a formal or educated one. |
