With the close of the most recent AFG challenge, a needed change to the format of that challenge was highlighted. Without going into specifics, there were multiple winners, and not all of them labeled the form of poetry they used. My intention is that no matter the format, any challenge or exercise associated with FOS is based upon the use of a form of poetry. So, what does this mean? Going forward, AFG will once again be a competitive challenge decided upon by a host. That function is now possible in the new format. For the most recently completed AFG challenge, we had three eligible winners - Jollynoblefrog, Starlight1, and Darlene Hylton. I've asked each to give a phrase to me, and when they do I'll post a new AFG challenge with three phrases to choose from. At the close of the challenge, I'll ask the three of them to work together to choose a winner. That single winner will be the next host. It is simply too difficult for me to monitor and ensure each week that every entry properly labels the form of poetry used, especially now that challenges close after 25 entries and so it can close at any time. So we're back to putting the onus on the host to ensure the winner they select adequately complied with the challenge framework for AFG. Feel free to weigh in with thoughts or suggestions. I appreciate it greatly! If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague. *** Use link to purchase my first collection of poetry, Knowing He Must Go

grand idea Sir Dragon....it allows the 3 winning poets to not only pick the phrases but the winner too this time...and next time there should only be a single winner which will make for far less confusion..and 25 entries is not an onerous amount of poems to monitor nor is it too much for any one person, I think.....I like this change...I did notice quite a few entries (some winning) in the last challenge were not lablled and I had wondered about that... in friendship, Dory If a poem speaks to you be sure and let the poet know what it said.
