It's been a long time since we had a new form. Here is simple little form called Quinzaine. A quinzaine is a syllabic poem, with a total of fifteen syllables arranged in three lines, in a 7/5/3 structure. The key element of a Quinzaine is that the first line of 7 syllables makes a statement, and the next two lines ask a question about the subject. The name "Quinzaine" is derived from the French "Quinze", which is the number fifteen. There is no requirement for rhyme or meter. Example by Unknown Author: Untitled Flower pictures please me so; Is it the colors Or the bees?

Hello one, hello all. My little ramble on this weeks form. Enjoy. (Done right I hope) Puzzle Pieces Mile Marker MCDIII Quinzaine Verse Throwing stones at glass houses How many shadows Doubt the truth? All decisions made in fear When will the morning bleed the night? Trusting weaknesses succeed How long till treason steals a soul? Blinded eyes seeing too late Will paradise find An answer? Choices made by candle light What other questions Must be asked? Translating solutions of grey Is colored meaning right or wrong? Taken with a grain of salt Can life survive love's Tragedy? Reflections of yesterday Does tomorrow still stand a chance? -02L _________________________________________________ Happiness is a warm gun. |

Okay, so the last two lines that ask questions, those two lines can be "combined" in a sense, to form one single questions using the two lines? such as: Did he say that for his own sake? That is acceptable and fits the form? I am curious as I'd like to try this out. Thanks in advance and God bless. <a href="http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o314/jldavis79/?action=view¤t=Valderej.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o314/jldavis79/Valderej.jpg" border="0" alt="Valderej"></a>

The form is explicit: Fifteen syllables arranged in three lines, in a 7/5/3 pattern... first line is a statement...of seven syllables... the next line a question in five syllables The next line a question in three syllables.... it must be three lines....you can do a chain of these if you like

From above: Quinzaine is that the first line of 7 syllables makes a statement, and the next two lines ask a question about the subject. As long as the syllables are right the 2nd and 3rd lines can be separate questions or part of the same? This was the example they are part of the same question right? Is it the colors Or the bees? I'm just trying to get a good handle on this form!! :-) Heather Hazlett Give the Ultimate Gift BECOME AN ORGAN DONOR

(3 syllables) Question The form is supposed to be a three line poem, using the above format. From Above: Did he say that for his own sake? Is acceptable for the short lines |
