Selective Hearing:
The utmost reason for the failure and sucess of most Marriages.
We hear what we want to hear and we listen to what we want to hear.
"Father God in Heaven give us one and all the ears to hear your truths and tune out the attack and lies of our "Enemy satan". Lord allow us to love our families and not hold back the truth of your Word even when we know that it will bring judgement upon those who are wrong and salvation to those who are right". In JESUS NAME !! AMEN

I THINK I HEAR YOU NOW...
Hi Everyone, it is Annie here. You have seen some of my writes before and I hope they have been a blessing to you. Today, I had a blessing come into my life...A hearing aid. Oh how much I have been missing...both good and bad, Sound is such an awesome thing but sometimes it can be overwhelming, however, I have the priviledge of "selective hearing" if I don't want to hear it...I can shut it off. It has been a great day, learning to hear again, sorting out sounds, getting used to the background noises and being able to hear what I need to hear. Got to thinking about that...sometimes our spiritual hearing isn't all that good either, we get selective, choose to hear only what we want to hear and even when we are studying God's Word, really praying and trying to hear and understand God's will for our lives...We don't always hear very well...it's the background noise, all those worldly sounds that interfere with our hearing, the family, friends, TV, the radio, the neighbors, our job, politics, advertising, get rich quick schemes, the sounds of war, violence, crime, fear, hate, jealousy, greed, all those things that interfere in one way or another with our spiritual hearing.
My hearing aid is one of those new digital kinds and it has two wonderful buttons, volume control and a control that helps filter background noise, there is a setting for indoors and one for outside...or putting it in perspective, a setting for when there is apt to be a lot of clammer, so I can filter it out, and a setting for when I am in a less stressful noise level. I'm not quite used to them and had to readjust them several times today. Sounds were almost overwhelming.
The sounds of the world and all its demands on our lives can be overwhelming to our spiritual lives too. Remember when the Disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray? One of the things that He said to them was "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet and pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." Matthew 6:6 Think about it...if you are in your closet (a private and quiet place) the world isn't bombarding you with all its uncomely background noise and you can talk clearly with God and hear God clearly when He speaks to your heart. Sometimes we need to filter out the noise. You've heard the expression..."You are shouting so loud I can't hear you...that is what the world does...it is shouting so loud in our spiritual ear we can't hear God...So we need to filter out that sound. If you really want to hear what God is saying, tune out the background noise...
Hey God, I think I hear You now. Oh how I long to hear His every word..to listen, to hear, to understand and to follow. What a blessing to hear, to hear both physically and spiritually.
