"Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said he could not say whether the multibillion-dollar U.S. anti-missile defense system might be used in the event of a North Korean test. That system, which includes a handful of missiles that could be fired from Alaska and California, has had a spotty record in tests."
Our multibillion dollar anti-missile defense system has a spotty record? And just handful of missiles? Too bad Bush wasted hundreds of billions blowing up Iraq. We could have used that money to develop a defense system that might actually help protect our country in case of attack.

I've been watching and waiting for Bush and his admin to 'say something' to the effect about building our defense system to protect the western states from any harm brought on by North Korea. So far, no go. Now, North Korea is ready to test and we are left with our eyebrows raised.

No, I haven't read the "Left Behind" series.
I did see part one on DVD at church on Bible study night.
The one and only book I do have is:

My preacher's name is Rev. Wade. He is very thorough and well read. I am almost certain of the fact I am the youngest one in the congregation, thus, meaning, there is a bowl filled with knowledge at my church. It dates back to 1786 and is a white clapboard church with a steeple on it. There is no bathroom in the church nor is there any running water. We have wooden floors and about seven pews on each side.
The choir chairs are ladderback chairs that are older than the hills themselves. It's nestled back in a little cove in the woods about three miles from my home, here, in North Carolina.
I've also read "Bible Code II", one day, when
I have the time, I'll hunt down the first book.
I also have a book of Gnostics which I found at a
yard-sale for a quarter. Unreal, huh?
Pat Robertson made a prediction earlier this year stating the American Northwest would experience
a tsunami. Yesterday, in Nicaragua, a 15-foot wave made landfall there. No, it was not a tsunami, still, maybe Pat Robertson was a little off. Or is there more yet to come?
Global warming is very evident as well.
Thanks to Robert Redford and Al Gore, many people are becoming 'aware' of just how serious this subject matter is and not to be taken lightly.
Scientists and NASA have been warning everyone of the meteor that is to fall upon Earth. Yes, the govt. has a plan to try to intercept it, however, we do not know what tomorrow will bring. Yes, the meteor in 2005 was intercepted and destroyed which is all good. God only knows what is to come and to be.
I believe, we, a generation created by Adam and Eve, are feeling, seeing and hearing all of the signs of 'the end of time'. |

No doubt, B.I.B.L.E. is still valid today in age.
I purchased my copy of "The Gospel of Judas" on Mother's Day. I read right away. It totally blew my mind to say the least. Trust me, after you read this book, Lewis, you will have to re-think everything you've been taught according to Judas Iscariot and Jesus Christ.
Wow, that's sweet! Yes, I have The Apocrypha.
It was 'supposively' written between the time of the old and new testament. These include: Tobit, Judith, the Additions to Esther, the Additions to Daniel (the prayer of Azariah and the Three Young Men, Susanna, and Bel and the Dragon), the Wisdom of Solomon, Ecclesiasticus (also called Sirach). Baruch (also called 1 Baruch), the letter of Jeremiah, 1 Maccabees, and 2 Maccabees. Which one is your favorite canon, Lewis? I like Bel and the Dragon and Susanna thus far. Again, they are gnostics, since there has been an error found such as the assumption that Sennacherib was the son of Shalmaneser instead of Sargon II (check out Tobit 1: 15), Further, unlike many of the biblical books, there is no claim in any Apocryphal book in regard to divine inspiration.
Yes, the church I attend is very old, however, it is well preserved and looks so beautiful sitting back in the cove. As far as the 'church, thus being the 'congregation', yes, the people whom attend are pretty much retired. Most of them are Yankees from the North. In fact, most of whom attend live in the same sub-division I do or the ones that surround my sub-division. There are many authors, poets, artist, retired military Officers, teachers, CEO's and a few native North Carolinians whom have been attending this church forever and a day. Hence, the church is filled with knowledge. My preacher for one, travels across country throughout each week. When the weekend comes, he never fails to make the 1 1/2 hour drive to our Church to preach. He spends all day in our community on Sunday. He is pretty hip and trendy and serves up a wonderful dish filled with the fruit of wisdom with each sermon he gives. No matter if Rev. Wade has to fly at least three times a week acroos the U.S.A., he shows up to church with his guitar and he plays the piano beautifully. He owns two energy plants, or is it three? I can't recall how many not that it's important but then again it is because I want you to know just how devout Rev. Wade is. He's marvelous! For Christmas of 2005, the church went in the forest to cut down a White Carolina Cypress and put it inside the church on the right side of the altar. The womenfolk dressed it up in 'old fashioned homemade' ornaments. Totally awesome, Lewis. I wish many could have been there to experience the feeling of 'yester years'.

The Gospel of Judas gives a different view of the relationship between Jesus and Judas, offering new insights into the disciple who betrayed Jesus. Unlike the accounts in the canonical Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, in which Judas is portrayed as a reviled traitor, this newly discovered Gospel portrays Judas as acting at Jesus' request when he hands Jesus over to the authorities.

I didn't see "The Last Temptation of Christ", so, naturally, I was wondering 'why' you entitled your poem "A Different Drum" when we were talking about Judas Iscariot. I thought for a moment you were referring to him in your title as one being his own leader following the beat of his own drum.
Also, You had the names of the authors who put
"The Gospel of Judas" on your entry and I did see the codex as well. But tell why you felt complled to insert the title of a song from the soundtrack of "The Last Temptation of Christ?"

One may find themselves perusing the site time and time again because it's so very interesting.
