While it is true that we allow a little more rope on the things that are expressed in the political portion of this site, some recent posts and complaints have caused me to restate our views on how debate should be conducted in this forum.

We are not to make personal attacks against others. We will not question one another's intelligence. We will not question one another's allegience.

We will debate like grown ups. And when the debate goes beyond grown up behavior, it will be removed.

Lewis currently has his butt in a sling, to quote an earlier post by someone in a thread that is now removed. We will not allow general attacks on people based on race or religion. We will not call people turban heads and we won't call people Jew killers.

This part of the forum is meant for a little more gentle debate on current political topics. It is not meant to be a place where we slam one another and acutally engage in verbal comabt.

If only all of the wars going on in this world could be carried out at some web site forum. The world leaders would make posts and duke it out virtually using words rather than bombs and guns. Hey, we would offer our services to allow such!

But, such is not the real world. Real wars are going on. Real people are losing their lives and homes. At this site, we will insist that all political discussion will bear in mind the horrible loss that so many, on all sides, suffer from all of this.

We will be respectful of all sides in our discussion, or we will not discuss and we will close the political thread for the duration.

I am hoping you all can find a way to to work through these issues on your own.
But if you can not, this is one battle field that we can make go away.

So many are afraid to even post in this part of the forum for fear of being torn to pieces. Let us all listen more to those who speak with a bit of hesitation. Let us learn from one another and relate, not bicker.

Or else, as I said, we won't have this area any longer and everyone can just listen to the news from their favorite source.

This is a poetry forum. And this part of the forum is meant for poets to think about and dicuss and debate current issues. When it moves beyond that, it moves beyond the scope of our site.

Thank you all for understanding and using perhaps a bit more restraint when addressing one another. And let us all pray for peace. Peace is the best gift we can give to our children and grandchildren.

For obvious reasons I again request that Findley be banned from the discussion forums. It would be unfair to close this forum because one person can't control himself even after being warned certain remarks are out of line.

AS I was saying...

We should all respect the opinions of one another and engage only in debate that will enlighten us and help us to learn more about our fellow human beings.

For the record,Lewis is banned from not only the discussion forums, but the site as a whole. He is aware of his fate and doesn't like it much. I apolozie to all who were offended by his ealier remarks.
