"Kanye West is a Barry Goldwater nut. Though the rap star was not even born when Goldwater campaigned in the 1964 presidential election, he was introduced to his philosophy by fellow Goldwater enthusiast Ghostface Killah, who told him, "That Barry. He's my homie!" West owns the world's largest collection of Goldwater memorabilia (including 387 different lapel pins, over 3,000 posters, as well as the original megaphone used by Goldwater while addressing a crowd in Birmingham, Alabama). He has vowed never to support the Republican cause until a candidate emerges who is properly in tune with Goldwater's libertarian instincts."
