Perceptions

Mile Marker MDCXLIII

Question the meaning of a day,
dictated answer to all say.
Since what I say is always right,
It would have been enough tonight.

Suffer from thirst in noontime's sun,
carry a cross and loaded gun.
believe the lies from others hear,
It would have been enough to fear.

Battle a world of hate and greed,
ignore a moment's basic need.
control a simple minded way,
It would have been enough to play.

Mourning the loss of love so true,
addictive pleasures must pursue.
surrender black and white to grey,
It would have been enough to stray.

Hiding in midnight all alone,
mocking words found on weathered stone.
Question the meaning of a day,
It would have been enough to pray.-

Phrase: It Would Have Been Enough
