When I Cry
When I cry, there's no sound, just salted dampness, a film to protect me from your lies and indifference.
When I smile, there's no joy, just curved resignation, a mask to hide the dampness of my tears.
I watch you, dumbly and in pain, while you incise yet another mark on my quivering heart.
I stand passive, in fascination at how much hurt this can be, and how a fool like you is making a fool of me.
