A Londoners Tale
A view from St. Paul's
This is meant to be read wiv' a London/(Cockney) accent.
Most days I am really quite 'appy, but on uvvers I feel really sad I just can’t get over what 'appened and how fings got so naffin' bad
I dearly loved a woman, she was the best I ever 'ad But I messed fings up “big-time” and now she is so naffin' mad
I suppose I really can’t blame 'er, 'cos she wanted a man like 'er dad She wanted a man strong and peaceful; what she got was a bit of a cad
But now that my wild days are over and I no longer play “Jack the Lad!” If only I could get 'er to see, I’m sure that she’d be really glad
I don't think she trusts in my feelin's, but I love her much more than a tad The passion I have for this woman is certainly no passin' fad
Well now that my dittie is endin', there’s one last fing I’d like to add I still 'ave this burnin' desire, to be alone wiv 'er.... scantily clad!
