You Went Home

You said you`d never leave me here all alone
Yet shortly after we wed,Jesus called you home
As I sit here tonight and look from wall to wall
I see our pictures hanging there and the tears begin to fall
How many more nights can I spend like this
Oh God How I miss your tender kiss
We would lay side by side every night
I would lay my head on your shoulder you would hold me tight
I remember getting up with you all hours of the night
Giving you your pills making sure you were all right
Then the night came you did not hold me tight
you were already asleep when I got to bed that night
I tried to give you your pills You could not open your mouth enough
I thought Oh God this is going to be so tough
As you lay there dying I whispered I love you
You tried to open your eyes and you whispered I love you to
I knew it was going to be worse as it went along
Then the day came and you were suddenly gone
Yes Jesus called you home one month ago today
I still have my memories no one can take them away.
