Dancing At Night
Dancing with you I hear the music, but not the song.
What should be perfect has quickly gone wrong.
In my arms you should melt, head on my chest.
You spoke soft, 'we must part', no hearing the rest.
That night, on the dance floor, you broke my heart.
Still as a statue, broken hearted, a tear did start.
The music has stopped and you've walked away.
Alone now at night I'll always remember this day.
The band began playing and she did appear.
Taking my handkerchief, wiping each tear.
What went so wrong has now gone right.
Strange things happen dancing at night.
