There Was Such A Day
Quiet waters shimmer in diamond sun light,
Stretch as far as the eye can see.
Waves frolick, tiptoeing to the edge
Of golden sand, spilling to caress
My toes, playing hide and seek with
shells and sea gulls.
'Come share!', they beckoned softly,
'Come share my warmth and laughter!'
A sycamore betwixt spruce and pine,
Trail blazers, walking hand in hand,
Some ran, bade me 'Come!'
But I stayed to write,
So you would know,
There was such a day!
