The snow taps on my window
As I gaze in a dream,
Thinking back to years ago
Throwing snowballs it would seem.
Oh! What fun and laughter
What innocence to recall,
Rolling in the snow
Cuts and bruises if we had a fall.
The innocence of childhood
We simply can't deny,
Was the best time of our lives
We never asked when or why.
As long as we had love to heal our wounds
A warm fire to dry our skin and clothes,
A meal and nice bed too snuggle down
And mum to read us a story and tickle our toes.
As I come away from the window
I feel such happiness in my heart,
With my writing my children
Can share my experiances right from the start.
