Beauty is the day and night
Beauty is the hour,
Beauty is the glistening snow
From a fluttering shower.
The moonlight drifts across the plain
The music crisp beneath my feet,
As they stamp out a merry tune
In majestic symphony complete.
In flowing beauty virgin white
This is my glowing lamp,
I trample down this sodden night
Along these paths of damp.
And on this night I thus see
A vision shining bright,
Before my streaming eyes
Sits a figure on a horse of white.
Her features are of beauty
Her eyes are hypnotic blue,
Come hither friend she says
Or freeze before the night is through.
She pulled me onto her horse
And we rose into the snow filled sky,
I held on for my breath was taken
As I asked her the question WHY?
Do-not ask why she said
Only know this,
You would have died down there tonight
If life had not given you this kiss.
Live your life to the full my friend
And never be foolhardy again,
She disappeared into the cold night
From whence she came I know not or when.
But I will thank her all my life
For leading me in the right direction,
And I will never forget those hypnotic blue eyes
As I sit here in beauty's warm reflection.
