Over night we loved each other
Over night we really cared,
But come the light of morning
There was nothing that we shared.
Words had been spoken in aggression
Tempers had flared and raged,
Things had been broken
We were like two animals caged.
Tears could have filled rivers
Promises were forsaken in screams,
All in a matter of hours
everything was in misery not dreams.
There would be no more romance
No more candlelit dinners for two,
no more nights of passionate love
The lights had really gone out we were through.
All for the sake of guilty words spoken
Confessions of a late night sexual thrill,
While I had been working on the night shift
Some other guy had been getting his fill.
You think you know someone through the years
I guess I couldn't take it I never will,
You see I'm talking through prison bars
I never thought love could make me kill.
