LEAVES OF LAUGHTER
Sunshines autumn leaves of smiles
Wrapping up in autumn breeze,
Cold the wind but welcome
In amongst the swaying trees.
The children throw the leaves
Up in the air for fun,
Bringing joy and happiness
To each child's face everyone.
The cheeky innocence so pure
Brings such happiness to me,
Thinking back on my childhood days
They were so wonderful and free.
Freedoms picture oh so bright
Sunny days in playgrounds spent,
In laughter's house of childhood
I wonder where they went.
On this day of fun and laughter
My memories come flooding through,
And as I feel the tears of happiness
I realise I am a child on this day too.
