She said, where are we going today Granddad?
She is a beauty beyond compare,
She has beautiful gourgeous blue eyes
And plaits with ribbon in her blond hair.
She is a little angel of that you can be sure
I said, lets go to the park first and have some fun,
You can go on the swings and slides
And I can sit and read my book on the bench in the sun.
As she ran to the swings, she said, Granddad I love you
Right from your grey head down to your feet,
In reply I said, I love you to Alice
With a big Granddad smile I sat on the seat.
I started to read and watched her for a while
And then I must have got engrossed in my book,
I heard her shout to me once or twice
But never bothered to take notice or look.
I finished my chapter and looked round the park
My panic button set in my ticker grew quick,
Alice wasn't to be seen nowhere in sight
My god I thought and began to feel sick.
Somebody has taken her I ran round the park
Frantic by now, it was starting to get dark,
Don't play games Alice where are you?
Over here Granddad I was only having a lark.
I kissed her, I cuddled her and I shed a tear
I had never had so much fear as that day,
All sorts of terrible things went through my mind
So don't ever lose sight of your child at play.
WE LEARN A NEW LESSON EVERYDAY
THANKFULLY THIS STORY HAD A HAPPY ENDING!
