When autumn leaves have fallen
When winter's snow lays deep,
When spring returns the daffodils
And the harvest has been reaped.
My memories of my Grandmother
Lay deep inside my head,
They make me smile, sometimes weep,
Because she was a beautiful human being
Who taught me about the book of life to keep.
She loved the beauty around her,
Children she adored, her talent was endless,
Her poetry you had to applaud.
She was a country girl was gran,
A worker through and through.
She would often chat to me
About the things she had to do.
She had a sense of humour
That kept me laughing all day.
She had ninety four years on this planet,
And lived everyone to the full.
Her courage was incredible,
On occasion she had me winding up her wool.
Dear Gran I love and miss you
I'm a man now shedding tears.
I'm thinking of all the happy times
We had throughout the years.
I have beautiful memories for all season's,
Positive thought you would say
You've got to get on with it son,
And live for today.
And as I look up to a starry sky
I blow my Gran love and kisses,
And thank her for all she did for me
Including her poetry wishes.
God bless Gran. Love Tony XXXXXXX
