4:05

Sun rise at 9:27.
It sets at 4:05.
6 hours 39
of daylight.
4 point 5
minutes less tomorrow.

These are the grays
when light recedes
and far-aways
sing songs that lead
to scenes of long ago
not someday anymore
not quite so much.

These are the times of long slow drifting twilights
cloudy nights with snow, no open space for stars.

And the cycle of the years
keeps rolling on.
