MY HEAVENLY FATHER ( Couplet )
~ My Heavenly Father ~
( Unrhymed Couplet )
My sweet Heavenly Father, help me to serve You better this day
And with Your Holy Spirit guide me each day, as only You can, I pray
I don't know for certain, what tomorrow will bring
But I just choose to rely on You just in everything.
Just humbled my very weary heart in all that You will
Mold mine like soft clay, be my voice at times, and make mine still.
I know that I need not rely ever on my very own strength
Because You are everyday, right here with me and all the way.
When I'm feeling in doubt, dejected, rejected, afraid and in deep pain
Help me see more of Your Divine Light, and that with You, I am never really alone.
Just help me with all that I face through, to cope with everyday, and be strong
You know that I Trust You in every way, and that with You is where I'll always belong.

4. Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

- HOW TO KNOW JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR -
A salvation prayer, known by many Christians as a 'Sinners Prayer,' is a prayer one would say to repent from sin, ask God for forgiveness, confess belief in Jesus Christ, and accept him as Lord and Savior. Saying a salvation prayer is the first step in your personal relationship with God.
If you believe the Bible offers truth about the way of salvation, but you have not taken the step to become a Christian, it's as simple as praying this prayer. You can pray by yourself, using your own words. There is no special formula. Just pray from your heart to God, and he will save you. If you feel lost and donít know what to pray, hereís a salvation prayer that you can follow:
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that donít please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me.
I believe that You died on the cross for me to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to You now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to You. From this day forward, help me to live every day for You and in a way that pleases You.
I love you, Lord, and I thank You that I will spend all eternity with You.
If you have just prayed this prayer, congratulations!
You have received Christ as your Savior and have made the best decision you will ever makeóone that will change your life forever!

~ PUT ON A HEART OF COMPASSION ~
-Colossians 3:12-14 -
Have you ever noticed that some people are more naturally compassionate than others? Maybe itís their personality or upbringing. Nevertheless, in the church, every believer is told to 'put on a heart of compassion' (Col. 3:12). When empathy doesnít come naturally, some Christians may wonder if something is wrong with them. So, what can we do to develop a greater sense of caring?
While emotions cannot be manufactured on demand, we can change our thoughts, which in turn affect our emotions. Compassion, like all the other qualities listed in todayís passage, is possible only when we think of others before ourselves. Self-centeredness keeps us from seeing the needs and hurts of those around us and acting on their behalf. What we need is a renewed mind.
We are all born with a selfish, sinful nature, referred to as the 'old self.' But when a person puts his trust in Jesus, he receives a 'new self' created in righteousness by God. (See Eph. 4:22-24.) As our minds are renewed with His Word and we grow in obedience, Christís love and compassion begin to flow through us. Instead of our being oblivious to the pain and suffering around us, God will open our eyes and use us to comfort those in need.
A heart of compassion is achieved not through self-effort but through a God-focused life. As we draw near to Him through His Word and His Son, He transforms our focus, thoughts, and feelings. What a relief to know that God has provided everything we need to follow Jesusí example of caring. He always equips us to obey His every command.

~ WHY DOES GOD ALLOW SUFFERING? ~
-1 Peter 4:12-19 -
At some point, youíve probably been asked why a loving God would allow suffering in the world. Though He is able to stop it, He often doesnít. And while we can acknowledge seeing Him at work during certain difficult situations, at other times it looks as if nothing is happening despite our many prayers.
We live in a sinful world, so the potential for anguish is great. Sometimes weíre troubled when people are driven by the evil within. Other times the cause is our own weakness or Godís discipline in our life. Still another reason might be persecution or simply the consequence of ignoring good principles. But whatever the origin of our distress, we can be sure that if God allows it, He has a purpose. He may want ...
To get our attention. The psalmist realized affliction brought him back within Godís will (Psalm 119:67; Psalm 119:71). In times of distress, we often turn to Him for help.
To develop personal righteousness in us. God wants us to mature, so He will reveal areas of our life that we need to address.
To prune us. John 15:1-2 paints an excellent word picture of how God eliminates attitudes and actions that are not godly or fruit-bearing.
To teach us obedience. Jesus, who always did the Fatherís will, is our perfect example (John 4:34; Heb. 5:7-9). As we are conformed to His image, we will increasingly learn to obey God (Rom. 8:29).
Over the next two days, weíll look at other reasons God may allow painful seasons in our life. Until then, ask Him to show you how He may be using suffering for your good.

~ HOPE DESPITE A CHANGING WORLD ~
- Psalm 46 -
Where do you place your hope and security? If itís in governments, financial markets, or education, you will be disappointed. Our world is always changing. Trusted governments fail, great economies falter, and strong institutions prove to be unstable. When this happens, people struggle with fear and insecurity.
The world, however, wonít become more trustworthy. Ever since the time of the tower of Babel (Gen. 11:1-32), people have been promising a better civilization, but no man-made advance has permanently enhanced life. Certainly some institutions go through periods in which humanity is greatly benefited, but ultimately any part of society that challenges God wonít last. Itís because the talented and knowledgeable people involved are also sinful people. Greed, pride, and lust have brought about the downfall of many civilizations.
Brilliant, charismatic leaders may claim to offer a better tomorrow, but no man or woman is the solution to the worldís problems. Only Christ can deliver on His promise of hope to those of us who trust in Him. He lives in us, guiding our path, comforting us in loss and sorrow, and promising an eternal future of heavenly bliss.
This changing world can be a scary placeóespecially for people who trust in themselves. But those who trust in God can have hope and confidence because even in a chaotic environment, He is the one constant. His Word is always true, His power is absolute, and His promises are certain. Human institutions fail, but when Jesus Christ returns to rule the earth, all will be made right.

-Reflect & Pray -
There's no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to
do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
-1 John 4: 18
When do you find yourself feeling pressured to believe fear is greater than love? How might your relationships with others change if you believed you donít need to be afraid?
Loving God, thank You for Your love. Help us to trust in and follow Your light and love even when the way gets dark.
~Prayer Of The Day-
-Lord Jesus, as You sat looking over Jerusalem, You wept.
Give me the same compassion for those who have not accepted Your remedy and been born again.
-Salvation is for today, SEEK THE LORD while He may be found. No one is promised tomorrow.
- Bless is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.
