Beauty

A Sestina

Eyes staring up toward the heavens,
I see the brilliant twinkling stars.
Turning my head I look for the moon,
It rising over the horizon full.
I blink my eyes to reinsure the beauty,
that lies with the night sky.

I raise my hands to the sky,
as if to catch a piece of the heavens.
Once again I am in awe of it's beauty,
set aglow by the moon and stars.
And, as I see that it is full,
I am struck also by the solemn beauty of the moon.

I stand there staring at the rising moon,
as it makes it move across the night sky.
My mind is becoming full,
of what is offered in the heavens.
I look upon the wonderful stars,
but, even they don't compare to your beauty.

I see your uncomparable beauty,
in everything, even the moon.
Take my greetings from your nearest stars,
and know that it is I sending it to you from the sky.
I have reached into the heavens,
trying to see and make me full.

I watch the wondrous moon so full,
and think about it's beauty.
It glides so quietly across the heavens,
this beautiful full moon.
I watch it move across the sky,
and block out the twinkling stars.

It hides each of the stars,
as it passes so full.
Gliding through the night sky,
I again think of your beauty.
Turning my head again, I look at the moon,
gliding through the heavens.

The stars do not compare to your beauty.
Nor does even the full moon.
Your beauty is not even matched by the sky or heavens.
