Beer vs MIlk

Beer VS Milk
By Kathy Lynn

A child died today,
A choice had to be made.
Beer vs milk,
Alcohol or life was the trade.

A father filled with drink and rage,
Because the child needed milk.
Brutally beat this babe,
So now he lies in blue silk.

He wasn’t strong enough,
To ward off the blows.
To little to run away,
He couldn’t even if he chose.

There will be no little league,
No basketball games for him.
Not a chance to grow up,
A championship to win.

Christmas will come and go,
There will be no toys under the tree.
The sound of his laughter will be gone,
His smiling face full of glee.

Just a small little coffin,
Under a granite stone,
The quiet is deafening,
The child has gone home.
