A Dream
It was a dream that a dear friend shared,
You were vibrant again with a gaze so fair;
In cut off jeans and filled with life,
You played your guitar and sang with delight.
Sitting on the hood of a car once new,
You crossed your legs and sang so true;
Your voice was sweet, your melody pure,
Life came forth from a heart so sure.
It's a picture I'd love to possess,
I'd frame it, adore it, you'd feel the caress;
Thank you dear friend for sharing this dream,
It brightened my day, made my eyes gleam.
My sweetheart is better, and who can know,
Her health may return, her strength may grow,
Her voice may once more be vibrant and strong,
My heart will rejoice when I hear her song.
To my darling wife, whose health and voice have been stricken by Pulmonary Fibrosis.
