Beauty in the sky

As the sun rises
there is beauty in the sky.

An essence of poetry
the earth has written
to an aching heart--
devoid of whimsy animation
yet, your meter still flows.

Images crisp as fanciful rhyme
shimmer high above
a feathered charcoal,
reflecting back
on a pool of tears.

Sorrow weighs heavy
as a pibroch plays
reverently on the breeze
in honor of your friendship
and caring soul.

As a loving mother
and grandmother,
a heartfelt aunt to my heart
and sister to each brother.

Remembering your essence
on this season's final change,
the season of peace eternal.

There is beauty in the sky
as the sun rises.
