Forever Love (Sesta Rima)

Like Butterflys or the Eagle sitting on a rock,
the beauty, the life, the unfettered spirit that is you;
sets my spirit to soaring like the gliding Hawk,
and because of our kindred souls the Love grew:
I cannot Love another your hands cup my soul,
with passion and caring my love you stole.
My thoughts always on you, dreaming of a life,
with this beautiful woman forevermore;
planning a home and the future with you as my wife,
forsaking all others as it's you I adore:
Rejoicing and praying to God up above,
that He led us togeather to fall deeply in Love.
Be it ever so humble there's no place like Home,
full of Love and laughter of a family like ours:
My soul belongs to you I'll never roam,
my mind and body complete now you heal my scars;
I will not hide among the simple or among the small,
I must be proud of my Love and stand tall.
Thanking Him and the circumstances that made us meet,
looking to the future with you by my side;
knowing now that my life can finally be complete,
giving all I have to you and swallowing my pride:
working toward one goal I finally realize,
that receiving your Love is the ultimite prize.

(All rights reserved) This week's Form Over Substance featured form is the:
Sesta Rima
The sesta rima is best known for its use by Shakespeare, and is
therefore often called the "Venus and Adonis" stanza.
As stated, this is a stanza form - it is comprised of six lines
of iambic pentameter that is rhymed "ababcc" - or to put it
another way, a rhyming quatrain followed by a rhymed couplet. |
