Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Amidst the Light

Along the garden path my footsteps led
Where shadows waltz in silent revelry,
Yet motionless I found myself instead
Of boldly treading on uncertainly.
For here beneath these branches intertwined,
I first beheld the moonlight on your face.
My love I guarded close, lest I impart
More passion than a soft, first-kiss should find;
And I indulged my fingertips to trace
The magic of those moments on my heart.

Some of love's threads remain forever tied.
Such powerful reactions jarred my skies
Whenever you appeared close at my side.
Life's love songs echoed deep within your eyes;
And still within my core their notes resound,
Though time has long since ripped you from my view.
Soul rhapsodies reflect such lovely scars,
A map to track each treasure life has found.
Above my head a moonlit sky of blue
Shines homeward as I turn beneath these stars.

The lilt of bamboo wind chimes warmed the air
And spurred the autumn leaves to rise and dance.
Fragmented mem'ries caught me unaware
While faint the morning fog edged in advance.
In midnight mists true colors hide the rain
And pulse this howling ache, which stirs my hand
To slice my soul and let these words spill sight
Across this empty page, a verbal stain.
The dawn without your love will break soon and
My nightmares wake and walk amidst the light.
