MY FIRST LOVE

When I looked into brown eye's so deep and soft,
I thought my heart would burst with yearning.
The sound of your voice sent shivers to my toes,
My legs grew week, and I wanted you.

Every touch was like fire on my skin,
How could I love so deep?
Never did I regret one moment with you.
I was totally yours, heart, soul, and body.

When you ended it I was crushed beyond words
I gave you all I was with nothing left over.
What had I done to you, for you to leave.
I wanted to scream, to die, it hurt like a knife in my heart.

Years after we went our separate ways,
To see you would stop my heart.
I'd freeze in place, love struck again.
Now I look back and remember what we had.

Time has changed how I feel about you.
My first love, the one I will never forget.
The lessons learned from a love so strong.
A love that was too young to understand.
