The Sacrifice

As my Saviour stumbled up Calvary's hill,
Bent beneath the weight of the cross.
He knew that he was the sacrifice,
Needed to save the lost.

Through all of the pain and agony,
As his precious blood was spilled,
Satan stood back and laughed,
Thinking the Saviour , he had killed.

As Jesus took his final breath,
A prayer he did recite.
Forgive them Father for their sins,
And for taking my life.

On the third day, He rose again,
Much to Satan's dismay.
He's now waiting and listening from Heaven above,
To hear a sinner pray.

The way was made by God's only son.
The lamb that was sacrificed,
To save our souls from the depths of hell,
And give us eternal life.
