Get Rid Of The Advertisements

There Ought To Be Clowns

Into each heart, some tears must fall
And fall they do, then comes the pain
The laughter dies, the sunshine fails
Our hearts just walking in the rain

There are so many poets huddled 'round
The back booths of this cafe
Stunned soft silence is the only sound
That echoes so loudly this day

I wonder if there still be clowns?
It seems we've missed them somehow
If there be clowns just hanging around
Dear God...
We'll be needing them now

What is this? The theater of the absurd?
Why is no one left, standing on the stage?
Why can't we hear any one reading the words?
Why isn't any one turning the page?

Hey.

Wait.

Why are the spot lights going down?
