The Red Rock

Walking along on a cold, gray winter day
I paused to look around.
Thinking of the Lord, and all He'd done for me
I saw a single red rock on the ground.

It lay in the middle of all of that gray
And it made me think of my Lord.
His Blood shed for everyone's pain and sin
And all of the darkness that humanity puts forth.

The red rock sits on my dresser now
To remind me of the cost
Of my beautiful Saviour who suffered and died
To forgive and save the lost.
