You are a child of the universe
No less than the trees and the stars
How very blessed is Starlite Cafe
Just knowing you are 'ours'.....
If there was but one rose to bloom
It would be yours for sure
You are a blessing with its beauty
You've had much to endure
Yet you go on and try to smile
Pretend things are just fine
Knowing you are tired and spent
And feeling your far behind
Always giving to others
That's what good folks do
That's not been an exception
When, dear, it's come to you
You give your all and even more
While inside your hurting so
But you must do what must be
done
All left up to you to know
Know just how to take the lead
Even though you've done it well
We all know that it's been hard
And some days just were hell
Tell it like it is ~ we know
For life sometimes is cruel
Especially when some folks seem
To break just every rule
But you with all your wisdom
And words chosen carefully
Take charge and make things better
Bet you think that we don't see
Always a kind and helping hand
Is there for each who write
Doesn't matter what the day
Nor tis it day or night
You burn the midnight oil, I'm sure
And wake at the crack of dawn
Always knowing your the one
That must keep things going on
So this, our dear sweet lady
Is a little humble prayer
To let you know how much your
loved
And how glad we are your here
Your walk has not been easy
But you carry each poets heart
Just as you have always done
From the Starlite's very start.
I've been at Starlite but a year
But I've heard naught but praise
For all you've done here working
For all the years, the months, the days
Not many thank you's come your way
And shame on us ~ tis true
For we owe you so very much
And the 'bill's' much overdue
So, with love, our sweet lady
From my heart to yours I say
That Starlite has been very blessed
That you have come its way
So, Tess, my dear, the humble pen
Just says we love you dear
And we would give you roses
And hold you ever - always near
I hope you know that Starlite
Would never be the same
If it wasn't so deeply humbled
That it knew you by your name
It is said that angels walk
The halls of Starlite ~ which brings
Another thought right to my mind
Your one of those without the wings
Yet when we get a glimpse of you
It's hard for us to know
You sure appear to have your wings
God's also made you 'glow'
