jaded redemption

two lovers lie breathless in silence
in a passion bliss where words lose room
beneath a blanket of diamond sequined sky
silhouetted by the glow of an autumn moon
the warmth of her cheek touches his heart
it skips a beat as she kisses his chest
in his arms, her salvation at last
her surrender, to easily confessed
hold fast please, gods of time and tide
don't let the sun burn the love away
hold the morning back for once
just once, don't let the horizons light betray
let her be my belief in something more to life
let him be my white knight sent down from above
don't let routine steal the want from lust
please let me trust myself enough to love
tomorrows may turn to what could have been
so let tonight be what can be now
fantasies fade in the mornings light
so to the night let our passions prowl...
